Well I am not actually on my fathers pc at moment but as far as I know it appears to be running slowly still at times and the odd error occurs but an antivirus has been installed and microsoft beta has been installed but to be honest we are not sure whether his firewall is working as when we went to make sure it was on it kept saying that their was some sort of error.

Its one of those pc's where you would like to take a hammer to  it, its a Hp and its a bloody nightmare, this one i am on is a Sony vaio and to be honest its brill pc but I am not getting the full benefit of it.....

Thanks for trying to help............

But..............

We cant even get the computer signed into the internet or if we do it wont do nothingg, I have set for hours trying to get somewhere and nothing happens, it as if something is blocking us from getting anywhere, virus or something maybe.....

Our programs that work off the internet lke limewire work but anything else wont, we havent been able to access these other programs without hitches for quite a while and I have tried everything.

At the moment I am posting this via a friends pc as i cant get it to work on my own....

Is it factory reset or is there something that I can go into on the pc that will rid me off whatever is happening such as into the registry or files....

Please help asap....

My who pc has been going haywire for a long time and there is programs which are x rated that keep downloading themselves on to pc without notice (I have been told might have a virus or something embedded on pc)  Someone has recommended that I reset to factory settings but I dont know how and once i do this can i just install everything and have a clean and new looking pc, I should also state that its second hand but i know it came from a good source and I am really afraid that my kids see something that they should not.

Should I or should i not reset to factory settings???

How do I do it???

PLease Please help!!!!
