I've got Norton SystemWorks 2002 (updated)and ErrorGuard 2.5.0 currently on my laptop. Someone suggested I add WinFixer2005 for extra protection.
Can someone please give this ignorant neophyte (me)suggestions on whether these are compatible software or if I should add other protective software in addition or instead. Is there more info you need to help me?

Hi

I think you have been misguided in reguarding Error Guard and Winfixer......remove Error Guard.....

http://www.spyany.com/program/article_adw_rm_ErrorGuard.html

http://labs.paretologic.com/spyware.aspx?remove=WinFixer2005

Just in case you may have ended up with malware on your computer download HijackThis.  It will create a directory folder for you. Run a scan and save the log file.  Post the whole log file here.  Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required).  This program will help  determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.

Thank you for your help.
I'm posting the result.txt file from hijackthis.

Another point,
During download of one of the recommended programs bloodhound.expoit.6 virus was found by Norton. It could not remove it and did not specifically state it was had successfully quarantined the virus. Furthermore, references to existence of the virus was not noted during installation and running of the KRC tutorial protective programs, and my subsequent search of Norton yielded nothing.

Thanks.
phil

Download Attachment: result.txt 5.62 KB
Right click and select Save Target As... then rename the file as shown here and save.
