PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows XP-Pro
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Panasonic CF-71
Error Messages:

Okay, I found the old "battery memory" post but these are lith-ion batteries we are having issues with.  What happens is we charge the batteries up and they show 100% charge.  But within a few seconds to a few minutes (depending on what the dog ate for breakfast?) the red battery critical light comes on and it shuts down.  No other warning, but 100% to 0% charge.  At first I though it was a bad battery, so I bought another one.  Still happening.  Must be bad pc, my tech tells me it needs a power jack.  Laptop still does it.  I get ANOTHER CF-71 and this one comes with a good battery.  But SUPRISE the other two batteries do the SAME thing in it.

After some reasearch, I find very little other than some whispered ideas.  I hear that these have an eprom in them that can get "out of synch" with the actual battery charge.  I tried to run the battery dead and it was suggjested I use an old pc fan.  Didn't work.  Another idea was a flashlight buld, pops instantly...(probally need it discharged mostly first then use this to finish it off?)  I found the above thread, but I don't see a "turn power managment option OFF" in xp pro.  I see settrings for a desktop... these?

I do have PM in my bios and I think I did fiddle with it and turned it off.  I am also running "SpeedswitchXP" right now but wasn't at first when these issues occured on the other machine.

Any thoughts and light shed on this issue will be VERY HELPFULL.  I even bought an external beattery charger trying to fix this.  And to solifify this issue, my Pops Fujitsu aslo with lith-ion batteries just started doing the same.  I have basic test equipment (mini scope, DVM).
