Error Messages:
hi for months now i have not been able to access my cd and dvd drives they do not appear in "my computer" and programs that use the drive do not dectect them allthough windows thinks that both devices are working propley, i have tried reinstaling/updating the drivers to no avail. secondly over the past few days my pc has become very slow at responding weather i'm connected to aol or not, aplications seem to take 30/40 seconds to apear. another aol user i know has recently expercinced the same problem but other aol users report no problems.
added to this my pc has begun shuting down on its own accord, although i think that may have somthing to do with the fact i am currently running both bit defender 9 pro and norton internet security 2003. they seem to be the first programs to shutdown before the whole pc shutsdown.
thats the problems, my soloution would be to reset my pc to factory settings as i have all my programs saved as installs and a laptop to save important work on (although i stand to lose about 15g of music)the thing is i cant remember how to reset it, so any help there would be appreciated. but seeing as i'm here with all you lovley helpfull people i would take suggestions as to reslove my problems without reseting. btw i have run countless anti spy, ad, virus programs and have restored to the earlest point. so i'm all ears folks please help
