PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98 SE

I have a number of programs that are quitting on me such as WS-FTP, FileZilla, IE, Firefox, Rogers Yahoo Browser, AOL, MSN... and on and on.

Spybot picked up on 5 issues which it resolved and Ad-Aware found spyware/malware which it resolved.

My computer is running very slowly since I added Mozilla Thunderbird and YPop to access my Yahoo email through Thunderbird.  I also had the Rogers Yahoo add-ons (pop-up blocker, anti-spy, etc.) which I just took out.

There is something called "OIN" in my Add/Remove programs which I cannot get rid of.  If I click on it, it sends me to http://www.outerinfo.com/questionnaire.php and asks me to complete a questionnaire.  If I do that (with fake info of course), then it sends me OiUninstaller.exe which I won't download. A Whois thing gave me:

Email: support@outerinfo.com

I was doing a Google search and apparently lots of others have had this and it's a stubborn one.  I tried to make a post here about this 2 days ago but neither of my browsers would let me on here.  Every other site was fine but any tech support sites, it wouldn't let me post on.

In the Log I see things for Symantec and the Google Toolbar which shouldn't be there.  I had that MSN Toolbar things showing up in my Add/Remove programs list and then I took out this MSNApps folder and now it's gone.

Hi
You will find an uninstaller on their homepage which I think is the same as you downloaded.I did scan it and it does not contain a virus.I think It should be ok to use.

http://www.outerinfo.com/

More info here.Is a matter of reading all the small print when you download something.. http://www.purityscan.com/privacy.html

Run HJT and fix this item

I have fixed what you suggested.  Smiley  What about getting rid of:

It seems odd.

As for the Privacy program, I never installed that!  I will try the uninstaller.  Here's the new log.

The computer seems alright except for the fact that Yahoo Messenger took itself out and Firefox reset itself to the settings I had at the beginning.  I also lost all my bookmarks.

Firefox is also quitting a lot. Sad

I cant see anything in the log that could cause your problem so just run HJT and remove these items..

----------------------------------
Please download Ewido Security Suite and do a scan when you first go into Safe Mode

 Install Ewido Security Suite.
When installing, under 'Additional Options' uncheck: "Install background guard" and  "Install scan via context menu"

To open the main screen double click the icon on the desktop.

You will get a warning 'Database could not be found!'.(only if no updated have first been installed) Click OK.

Update to the latest definition files. On the left of the main screen click Update. Then click on Start Update.Let it complete the updates.

Now Click on Scanner and Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will start.

During some scans  it may find cases of false positives so you will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.

If a file is detected you KNOW to be legitimate, select None as the action. Do NOT select 'Perform action on all infections'

If you are unsure of any entry found play safe and select None as the action.
Press the button marked Save Report

Save the report .txt file to your desktop or somewhere you can find it.Post it back with your next HJT log.
