Operating System Version: windows xp
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:nec valuestar
Error Messages:some start menu items are gobbleygook,
also some websites on the net and some software applications come out in this gobbly gook characters mixed up style.

The thing is this is a japanese computer bought at a yamada denki electonics store here in japan. The os is in japanese,
and the parts that are gobly gook seemed to be as far as I can tell those text passages should be in KATAKAN if they were to come out right but they come out weird. KATAKANA is one of the 3 alphabets in japan that is used to attempt to make similar sounding words to the equivalent western english style word.
its not 100% accurate at doing this but usually gives a good idea of what is trying to say in English.

anywho.....does anyone else have this problem on there pc running XP andhow did they fix it.
