Am running IE 6.0.2800 on XP SP1.

IE has for some reason suddenly decided that it wants to sort my Favorites list into Alpha order every time I restart. Undecided

Being an awkward old ****, this is NOT want I want it to do, I want to decide what goes where myself thank you very much... specifically I have (USED to have!) my most commonly used favorites above the folders in the list and every time I put them there now IE promptly moves them back into alpha order at next startup. Angry

There's lots of posts on various forums for how to make IE sort its favorites list but NONE that I can find for how to STOP it doing it!

I'm guessing I've had some sort of malware infection which has tweaked the registry entries to enforce alpha sorting of the favorites folder but I'm hanged if I can work out what it's done. Whatever it was has gone anyway as none of the 'standard' freeware tools are flagging up anything untoward.

Any and all suggestions for how I turn this nice helpful(?) feature OFF again would be gratefully received!
