You want to reformat a Win 98 machine, and install Win ME onto it? -

Do you have the Product Key for ME??
Do you have a full install disk for ME? - or an Upgrade disk??
Does the CD state 'Only for installation on a new PC"???
Do you want to keep any information from the previous install?Huh?

So many options - So little information!!!

Whatever - read the file 'CLEANHD.TXT on the Win ME CD, and it will help - posting back with your exact situation will allow a more relevant response!

In that case, the CLEANHD.TXT file should give you everything you need to know.

To format the HD  - boot to DOS using a Floppy, and type the command

FORMAT C:

to install ME after that, insert the CD, and type the command

D:\setup.exe

(where D: is the drive letter for your CD drive)
