Hello

My emergency is that I have no desktop! When I start my computer, everything runs normally until the Windows XP welcome screen shows up. After that, all I see is my wallpaper with my cursor. That's all. There are no desktop icons or start menu, there's also no system clock at the bottom right hand corner and there is no taskbar!

Please help me because I cannot do anything on my computer.

Thank you.

Can you boot to Safe Mode OK???

(hold down the CTRL key during the boot process)

If so, then we should be able to help - or you could try a System Restore from there.

Hello

I can get into Safe Mode and everything is fine when I'm in it. I can see all the desktop icons and the taskbar, and I tried System Restore, but it didn't work. I still have the same problem.

Hello

There is too many things in the startup list to individually type out, is there a way to copy and paste everything?

Not easily - but you should think about pruning it!!
look here for instructions on how to clean up your startup axis, preventing unnecessary programs loading
(enter any item in the startup list in MSCONFIG into the search box on the page, and click Search)
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

for detailed instructions - look here
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php

OTOH, you could run the SilentRunners tool
http://www.silentrunners.org/
- and post the results here
