Dear Nards:

I am having a similar problem.  I just received an email on Outlook Express, which is suppose to show me various photos, but instead each one is a white square with a little red x in the upper left corner.  Seems to me that I once knew how to fix this, but I have forgotten.  So I have subscribed to your forum and hopefully we will both get an answer soon.  I am using Windows ME.

Good Luck....

I also have this problem. Friends of mine as well as myself are unable to view images contained in stories or jokes . In place of the images is a box with a small RED "X"
appearing in the upper left corner. How can I fix this problem? So far I
have emptied my temp and Cache files and disabled the security settings in
the attempt to see these images. Visualizing them in an Attachment is not a
problem however. Under Outlook Express I've been told to go to options, Security and uncheck DOWNLOAD IMAGES. It did not solve my problem I use windows XP and IE v6 for webmail and also Outlook
Express. Can you help?

If you are using Outlook 2000, try this:

Go to Tools, then Options, then Mail Format.  At Mail Format CHANGE the format to HTML, then under SETTINGS (just below) then  check the box that says "Send pictures from the Internet with messages".  This seems to help most of the time.  The problem that i experience is getting mail from Yahoo and blank frames with little x's.  Let me know if there is a separate fix for this, maybe it is ok after this fix.
