PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:WIN XP PRO
Problem Application Name & Version: Download Accelerator Plus
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:Download Accelerator Plus could not be loaded, please press the back button in the browser.
I'm using Netscape 7.2 for my browser. DAP has started acting up recently. Some downloads do not transfer & I get the little blank window icon that wants to know what program to "open with". I uninstalled DAP and now I cannot get anything to download. It has somehow over ridden my download manager & I don't know how or where to change things to make it work. In Netscape preferences, under downloads, I have the box checked where it says "open the download manager" It opens for picture files that I save from my email but not for regular internet downloads. I've re-installed & uninstalled DAP but it still tries to be my download program. I've tried this with my firewall & pop up blocker off. I've also re-installed NS 7.2. Nothing helps. I really do not want/need DAP. How can I fix this? Undecided

Click on Start/Run, type regedit and click OK.
In regedit click on Edit/Find and type in DAP or Download Accelerator Plus and click on Find. Delete any entries you find by right clicking and select Delete. Press F3 for the next Find until you reach the end.
Make a backup of your registry first.

Also Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow   ( sfc if not reconized)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. You will need your Windows cd.

Hello Gk..I've been a bit under the weather & am now getting back to pc stuff. I have my operating system disk for my dell. I assume this is the one I need? there are other disks but they appear to be for reinstalling drivers & other software.  and how do I back up my reg? I browsed the FAQ page topics but only found a reg patch article.
Hope you had a good holiday!
