PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Win XP Pro V.2002
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: n/a

Hello, this is my first time posting here.

My problem is that I can't download anything. For example, if I were to right click > 'save target as' a mp3 file the file download window will pop up but nothing is being downloaded. Same goes if I were to DL any program. I can't even do Windows Update. I've installed and ran Norton Anti-Virus and Ad-Aware. That didn't fix anything. I've also done 2 fresh installs of Win XP Pro.

I bought this PC about 2 weeks ago used.
Quick Specs:
Win XP Pro V.2002
P II
504 MHz
224 MB RAM
18.6 GB Hard Drive

Hello and Welcome to MyTechSupport.ca

Lets start by Running the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow   ( sfc if not reconized)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. You will need your Windows cd.
