PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98 SE
Problem Application Name & Version: Outlook Express 5
Problem Hardware Make & Model: N/A
Error Messages: None



Having some problems with OE5: any links received in emails do not work. Clicking on the link does nothing. IE5 is setup as the default browser and I attempted to use the "Repair Internet Explorer", but I could not, since the program isn't listed under "Add/Remove Programs" (MS Internet Explorer and Internet Tools).

The current installation of Windows was installed over the previous one (same version, just a reinstall to fix deleted files). Would upgrading to a nwer version of IE/OE fix this, or is there another method available?

Hi,

If you still have the installation files for IE/OE5 you could try to re-install. I could not find anything in Microsoft's Knowledge Base about this problem but upgrading to the latest version may correct this problem.

Upgrade to 5.5 at:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ie55sp2/install/5.5_sp2/win98me/en-us/ie5setup.exe

2 hours at 56 k but it is really worth it as it includes absolutely every optional extra!
