I'd love to, but if you can't get the system to boot up, you can't run HJT!

Hello l84ab33r

Your going to need to preform a repair install to get back into the system.

Set the computer to boot from cd first in the BIOS
Place the xp cd in cdrom and reboot
Boot from the xp cd and choose install
Ignore the first repair option and continue with install
When windows finds the previous installation and offers to repair
then do the repair
If you have xp sp2 installed it needs to be incorporated into your xp disk or it will not offer the repair option only the clean install

How to perform a Repair Installation of Windows XP

Thanks for the help!!  I was able to finally get it to restore from the last known good configuration, then it booted up just fine.  I think there is a problem with the hard drive, as I have received 2 write errors since the problem.  Am on my way to purchase a new drive.

I would have had you do that but you stated you couldnt do anything, not even Safe Mode. Normally when Safe Mode doesnt work nor will LKGC.
Anywho, glad you got it sorted out.
Please reply one more time to this thread so we may mark it resolved and close it.

It didn't work the first time, but after several attempts it finally did, as I said, I decided to replace the hard drive.  So far it is working fine.  Again, thanks for the help!
