Initially, the system started to boot up then would go back to a black screen and start to reboot again of its own accord now it isn't even doing that. the power lights are on the tower and monitor the monitor then immediately goes into standby, nothing is coming up on the screen. Keyboard doesn't appear to be working but when plugged in all lights flash and then go off. I dont know if this is a hardware or software problem. Using Windows XP home

Are you hearing a POST beep at any point after you power on the computer?
Can you get into Safe Mode (by tapping the F8 key) after powering the computer?
