Hi,

Lock ups can be caused by many things.

Overheating - make sure all your fans, especially the CPU fan, are spinning and that the system is free of dust.

Software - Run Windows in Diagnostics Mode for a while to see if the problem persists

Memory - defective or incompatible memory will cause system lock ups. Test your memory. Here are couple of free memory test utilities:

DocMemory - http://www.simmtester.com/PAGE/products/doc/docmemsignin.asp
MemTest86 3.0 - http://www.memtest86.com/memt30.zip

Run them from MS-DOS

Hardware - Could be hardware related, either the hardware itself is defective or the hardware drivers are corrupted or poorly written. Update the drivers with the latest of suspected faulty drivers.
