PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: win xp tablet edition
Problem Application Name & Version: general
Problem Hardware Make & Model: toshiba portege m200
Error Messages: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

For the 3rd time this evening my machine has suddenly shut down, gone to the blue page showing the above error and starting to DUMP ALL THE PHYSICAL MEMORY.

It stays there frozen with the laptop making a hissing or spinning noise much like a cd-rom. (however i have no optical drive).

I then physically shut down and restart which automatically takes me to a page that begins scanning the C: drive.

After this finishes i am able to log onto a very slow machine. wasnt slow before.

ANy help is much appreciated!!

Check to see who manufactured your hard drive. Go to this link and download/run their Diagnostic Utility
