Hello and Welcome to MyTechSupport.ca

Could you please elaborate on how you changed it to 2400? Are you saying you upgraded the CPU?

i had the computer already made but i changed the motherboard and that was it and now it always says operating at 800mhz so i changed it in the bios to 2400 and it was alot slower than it was at 800 so i have left it at 800mhz so now am stuck because the computer is still abit jumpy when its set to 800mhz if that makes sense

The computer is a 2.4 intel celeron
110gb hard drive
128 geforce card
768 ram

Yeah it makes sense, what operating system did you install XP? Is there a jumper on the board to change the FSB? Check your manual.

Im not quite sure what you mean, but the classical way of overclocking your CPU is to access the bios of your mobo and adjust settings within there.  Im not sure what you mean when you say you want to overclock your CPU, but not the mobo?
