PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: win98
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Hi,
When first firing up my PC the system start with the usual teststhen finally the windows 98 desktop presents itself from then the mouse and keyboard action degrade to a very jerky mouse with little or no response same with the keyboard. To the point of no response at all from the mouse or KB.
We accidentally found a work around, as soon as the desktop is presented we go straight into the dial up and get onto the net once we have made contact with my ISP home page the mouse and KB find life.
At this stage I can safely get off the net, the mouse and KB work OK then.  It appears as if they pick up something from the net maybe drivers or whatever on the net that remain in memory till I turn the PC off.
Anybody got any ideas on the problem or the fix

Regards

If you're running Win98SE, try this:

Use "Diagnostics Startup" to troubleshoot Windows

This will determine if there is something loading that is causing this problem. Then we can narrow it down.

Hi Admin,
Thanks for the tip. It worked although I am not sure why the mouse and
keyboard worked as they should, however, and there always is a however, the
display was up the creek ie the colours were almost in negative. Please
forgive my lack of technical terminology knowledge.
Could this mean that my video card is not working as it should? The card is
a 2mb 3D ViRGE I think. Does this mean anything?
Thanks for your help
