ok, i downloaded this one .exe file from kazaa. I tried opening it and it didnt work. Now, i cant delete the file. It gives me a message saying that the current file is currently in use, and that's why i cant delete it. I've tried restarting my comp, doing the whole ctrl+alt+delete thing and it doesnt say that it it running. If you know how to fix this, e-mail me PLEASE!!! teenagelobster@hotmail.com

Hi,

If this *.exe file was a virus, it would load itself from the registry and would be in use. Before proceeding to delete the file, scan your system with an up-to-date viruscan. A free online scan is available at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ if yours is not up-to-date.

If the system is clean, reply to this thread with your Windows version and I will tell you how to delete the file.

The reason you should scan before deleting is because some viruses contained in *.exe files now enter registry information to run and pass executions through it. If the file is deleted that could render Windows useless if it tries to execute every *.exe through it and it is not there.
