I just bought a Logitech headset (headphones and an attached microphone piece).  I plugged it into the speaker port and the microphone port (there's two plugs).  I can hear sound but I can't speak into the microphone.  The microphone is turned on.
Also, there is some distorted sound.
Do I need to change computer settings?
AND, the sound card driver is Realtek AC97,I also upate the latest vesion. ALos, my windowsXPhome edition.
Thank you!

I also have a Logitech headset and it works fine.  I opened my volume Controls and see that the last one on the right...Microphone has a tick mark in the box.  Hopefully someone who knows more about this will respond to your query soon.

Your English is ok!  Good Luck.
