PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows 98S
Problem Application Name & Version:Internet explorer 6.0
Problem Hardware Make & Model:??
Error Messages:None
Lately Whenever I try to download a shareware or free software program, my system appears to connect up to the site starts and then just hangs there without any transfere of information. I have tried this on at least 20 different sites with the same results. A newbee here in need of help. Thanks

Do you a firewall installed?

Are you trying to download these shareware apps from the same site?

Can you download anything from other sites?

Hi,

Do you have a download manager installed like Go!Zilla?
Do you have McAfee Safe & Sound installed?

Either get an update to these program, re-install them or remove them through the "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the Control Panel.

If not, try to boot up using Diagnostics Startup explained here:
