Windows XP SP2
IE 6

I was playing a game and I had to turn of system ini so that the game could run, now I want to set it back to what it used to be and  I can't run 'msconfig' because I get an error message that says 'Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Admin Account to make the specified changes. '

I have an admin account.
Please help.
Thanks

Try restarting the computer using Safe Mode.
Tap the F8 key until you see a DOS like screen with loads of options. At the top you should find Boot Into Safe Mode.

See how that goes and report back.
You need to know your Administrator password to get in there, especially if you can't log into it using your regular user account.

Report back with your findings. Good luck Smiley

First of all, I apologize for taking so long to respond.
I changed it going in through Safe Mood.  I would like to know, even though my account is set as Computer Admin, how I can fix my being unable to use MSconfig through my normal account. I've always been able to and now I can't.  Thanks very much

It's possible that your account has become corrupt in some way.
In that case, you might want to try creating a new user account and give it the same permissions as the old one. See if that makes any difference and report back.
