PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:win 98
Problem Application Name & Version:CD/PDCD/DVD/CDRW Drive
Problem Hardware Make & Model: IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24 CD-RW
Error Messages:no cdr cdrw dirve located



I was burning a cd with NTI- Cdmaker 2000 professional and decided to watch a movie on the pc while i waited. Al of a sudden my comp freezes so I turn it off and back on. Then when I try to go back in  the cdmaker it says no cdr cdrw drive found. I check  my comp and see that the d drive which is my cdr drive icon is not there. I push the drives button to pop out cd but to no avail. I looked at past post and none solved the probem probly because you talked by via email. My system is running in optimal. I not a pc wiz so If you are able to help me plz break it down in idots terms plz ty.

Hi,

Are you saying the eject button will not open the tray?
If this is the case, shutdown the system, unplug it for a few minutes, replug the system and power on, try the eject button before Windows has loaded.

Check the "Device Manager", is the cdrw listed under the CDROM type?
Is the devices under "Hard Disk Controllers" working properly?
