Finally took my computer to a repair shop and got some of the problems fixed, but now the printer doesn't work.  I get a message in a box that says: RTL UNABLE TO START DRIVER FOR HYPOID407.EXE

Phoned the technician and he tried various things, including uninstall and reinstall, but no luck.

The printer worked last week.  Why this sudden problem?  It's a good printer...all in one...and I sure miss being able to use it.  I hate the thoughts of having to take the printer and computer back to the shop, but I may have no other options.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Hi Gere

Uninstalling and reinstalling would have been my suggestion. What kind of problems did the shop fix? How are you attempting to reinstall? Remove from Add/Remove and also delete any folder left in Program Files.

Thanks for your reply Geekgirl:

Presently I am waiting for a technician to come to my home.  I did receive instructions from HP, telling me step-by-step how to fix the printer problem, but I go so far and then my stupidity kicks in...so I will wait for somebody to come here with more knowledge than me!

Will let you know how things go, and thanks again for your response.

I am just about ready to murder my Windows ME, but will try to hold off!
