I am currently running a Windows ME computer and everything is moving super, super slowly (please read all of this post--even after the logfile).  I just installed MacAfee Antivirus per my university's recommendation because it found a virus on my laptop (which is connected to this desktop) while randomly scanning computers connected to its network.

So for the last few months, my cursor has been giving a rapidly stuttered hourglass that NEVER goes away.  I posted a Hijack this scan awhile ago, with no problems apparent.  Here's the current log:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Now my cursor is super slow in responding when I move my mouse, the stutter hourglass is now a second on, second off (rather than really rapid flashing), and all processes are running slowly (taking a very long time to open; when typing, it takes awhile for the text on the screen to catch up with what I've typed, etc.).  I've checked my system performance, and it tells me that I have 78% of my RAM free, so this doesn't seem to make any sense.  Can you please help?  Thanks.

Hello Rhia Welcome to MyTechSupport.ca

I see no malware in your HJT log. How much memory does the system have? Did this happen right after you installed McAfee? What was your anti-virus before installing McAfee? McAfee can eat up alot of resources.
