Using Windows XP Professional.

Am having some problems with my computer and I need some help. Huh? When I try to run the Trendmicro online scan or Spybot Search&Destroy the computer crashes. I managed to run Spybot Search&Destroy in Safe Mode and it found nothing. Didn't find anything with Adaware either. Ran AntiVir in normal mode, didn't find anything. But still, there have been a lot more crashes lately than usual, so something's gotta give. Dunno if it's a virus or something else, so if someone could please take a look at my Hijack This log and tell me if there's something unusual there, I'd be grateful! Cheesy If the log looks clean, I'll start exploring other options.  PC Smash

Oh, I'm terribly sorry if the log wasn't complete! This here, should be the log in it's entirety. Smiley

I don't see anything malicious in your log.
Did you  add '*.sf-anytime.com' to your trusted pages?

Check the error messages by looking in the Event Viewer (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer).

I suppose I did, because if I remember correctly it's this site where you can rent movies online.

What exactly am I looking for in the error messages of the Event Viewer? In the Application log there were errors and some warnings. For example, this warning:

"AntiVir has detected 'EXP/HTML.Iframe.A' into the file C:\Documents and Settings\Suvi Hanhikoski\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\45479vir.default\cache\04495366d01"  July 30th

These reocurring errors:

"Application error drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, address 0x0001295d.
More info: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."  August 27th

"Application error explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, address 0x000106c3.
More info: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."  August 27th

"Server service cannot be opened. The servers resourceinfo won't be returned. Returned errorcode is in the first DWORD-byte.
More info: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."  August 27th

Or something along the lines of that, had to do some rough translating.  Wink

Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow   ( sfc if not reconized)    (Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

In all likelihood you will be prompted to insert the Windows XP CD.

Sorry for the late reply, work has been insane lately! And the compy has behaved itself quite well lately, so haven't had the time to try this out yet. Thanks for the advice though! Will try it out as soon as work gets less hectic. Smiley
