Something very wrong is going on with my pc.  Whenever I go to a web page with jpegs on it all I get is a little square box in its (the jpeg's) place.  Sometimes if I click on it I get the full sized image, sometimes not.  I'm not sure if this is related but every time iI try to play a video online (you tube) it buffers all the way but the actual video stops after 2 seconds.  I'm running xp pro.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi and Welcome to the forum

Open IE, click on Tools / Internet options / Advanced tab and look for Multimedia, be sure you got "Show Pictures" with a check in the box.
