i am looking for a file compression program that extracts many upon many of formats and has very good ratings.. o yea it has to be free ty for you results in advance

7-Zip is the latest one. It's also free.

yes i have heard about this program only thing is... i use rar format a lot and this only unpacks the rar format   i am just curious if there is a free one that also packs rar?

No, only WinRAR from Rarlabs does do RARs. And WinRAR isn't free.

7z is the next best thing, maybe you should look into it. It does unpack RARs. and it packs files better than ZIP or RAR does.
