Error Messages:

hi, I use Windows Me, a couple of days ago because scandisk was taking so long , I cleared my screen and went into 'safe mode' by holding down the F8 key whilst shutting down.  This did speed up scandisk but since then I have been unable to come out of 'safe mode'  I have tried everything offered by 'Help' in Windowns and am getting rather desperate!!!!!

Hi,

Hit F8 again during bootup and select "Normal". If you don't get a windows stating that you're in Safe-Mode when Windows finishes loading, then your not in Safe-Mode. If it appears your are, low resolution and color, then verify your "Display" settings in the Control Panel. Something there has changed!

Great many thanks , u have got it right.  I am out of safe mode, the colour is not as strong as it could be but I am a little afraid to tamper with it again.  Again, many thanks!

Hi,

Simply increase the colors to at least 16-bit on the "Settings" tab of the "Display" properties from the Control Panel.
