I am using Windows ME and it has the same old problems that it was born with...one of which is freezing all the time, and I think more frequently as of late!  Angry

When I buy a new desktop computer, I would really like to get a good one, but I am torn between Windows and Apple.  I don't know anything about Apple except when reading reviews, most people say that they love their Apple computer and which they'd gotten one in the beginning, and that they are so secure that you don't need a firewall or anti virus program. Smiley  I don't know if that's the case or not.  And they say that they'd never go back to Windows.  Then there's the new Vista to consider, as well as Windows XP, which is supposed to have proven itself.  There's so many options to choose from...it's mind boggling.  Huh? I use my computer at home...not for a business, but I want to get one that will provide me with all the bells and whistles...if you know what I mean!

Is it difficult to shift to Apple after having Windows....I mean in learning how to use it?  Are the programs that different?  My grandson tells me that no matter what I buy, it will be so much better than what I have now.

Thanks for any opinions you can share.....

I also hear Apple (Mac) are much better than Windows. I really wish I had the funds to purchase a Mac so I can learn it, they say it is different enviroment than Windows.
I do however like XP, wont purchase Vista just eyt, still letting them work out th bugs.
