Windows ME, Internet Explorer 6.0

Today when I signed into two different banking sites, the security lock that usually shows up on the bottom of the screen, doesn't.  Huh?   I have no idea why it is missing.  I signed off right away since I was nervous to proceed without the lock symbol.  I did report this problem to the bank and they will have someone look into the matter...soon...but in the meantime....do you think it is just some "setting" that I have goofed up?  I was on the same sites yesterday and everything worked fine and the lock symbol was on both sites.

Thanks.

I just had a phone call from my banking institution and he told me to go to VIEW and then STATUS BAR, which I did, and he told me to make sure the STATUS BAR had a tick mark.  As soon as I did this, the padlock appeared.  So I guess this topic can be closed since it is now solved.  Why it happened in the first place....beats me!

Thanks.

Additionally, stop using IE for your online banking, as it's the number one source of security breaches in the online bank system.

Much better for security would be Opera or Firefox/Mozilla, but if you insist on using IE, be super careful.
