This may show signs of motherboard problems.  Who makes your computer?  If it's homemade, who makes the motherboard?  Please tell us your operating system, How fast of a pc, and RAM in your computer.

Don't know how much RAM you have or do you need to something else about your computer?  Download the Belarc Advisor at http://www.belarc.com

Hi,

Sounds like the system is in 'Stand By' mode.

When you move you mouse and the PC comes back on, does it show Windows booting or are you already in Windows?

Do you use the 'Shutdown' option in the Start menu to shutdown?

Do you simply use the power button on your system to shutdown? If so, check you BIOS to what the setting is set to do when the power button is pressed. It may be set to 'Stand By'.
