Hi,

My instructions were to right click the link above and save the file as "kernel32.dll" on your hard drive or directly to floppy. If your browser doesn't have an option to "Save Target as...", then click the link and select 'save' not 'open'.

Hi,

When you boot up, during the Windows logo screen, hit <ESC> to remove the log screen and see what is loading. Do you still see "himem.sys is missing"?

Try copying this 'HIMEM.SYS' into your 'c:\windows' folder

Download Attachment: HIMEM.ZIP 33.62

Hi,

Test your hard drive!

1. Start > Shutdown
2. Select 'Shutdown to MS-DOS'
3. At the prompt, type 'scandisk c:' <ENTER> (no quotes)
4. When asked to perform surface scan, say YES
5. Repeat this for every hard drive partitions (if you have more)
6. If there are many sectors marked bad 'B', you should consider replacing the drive!

Run this once a week for a few months and if you keep getting corrupted data and scandisk keeps finding new bad sectors, replace the drive ASAP!

Make a backup of your files NOW (e.g. documents, spreadsheets you created)
