Hi,
I hope you can help me - I'm so frustrated!!
I just had cable installed for my broadband and had a real headache trying to connect to the internet afterwards, but discovered that I had to lower my laptop's security and then had to reset my router. All was fine until I discovered that my pc won't connect to the internet. It picks up the wireless connection (via a usb adaptor) but won't actually connect to the internet. Somebody suggested uninstalling the usb adaptor drivers then re-installing but that hasn't made any difference.
Can you help? Police

does the router assign your pc a network address? check that in your network connections. try repairing the connection (right click your connection, choose repair).

This looks like it's a firewall issue, to be honest. Some firewalls are so adamant in keeping things locked up, that they neglect that your reason to have them is to be able to browse the internet safely, and change it to keep you safe, without the chance to do much.

What kind of security software are you using?
