(Compaq Presario 7470 - Windows 98 - PCI Multimedia Audio Device)

I upgraded my RAM from 64 to 184. Everything works fine except for
my sound. I tried "add new hardware" option under control panel to reinstall drivers. Didn't work. Compaq website had nothing.

Any ideas? I will be grateful.

If the sound card is not integrated, is it possible it has popped out of its slot slightly?

Also, check the 'Device Manager' to see if any devices under "Sound, video and game controllers" have a yellow dot/exclamation mark in front of them. Any "Other Devices" section in Device Manager?

1. Start > Settings > Control Panel
2. System icon
3. 'Device Manager' tab
