Hello,

I accidently bumped into a virus. I tried the standard procedure but it won't get away.
I am using windows XP and scanned with Ad aware, Spybot S&D and Nod32.
I've also tried to solve it with hijackthis and the explanation given on this forum, but it is still there (although nod32 tries to block its attacks.)

here is my log:

This will  help to identify any malware on your system.
Please download Combofix from  HERE or HERE

Save ComboFix to the desktop.

1. Double click on combo.exe & follow the prompts.
2. When finished, it will produce a logfile located at C:\ComboFix.txt.
3. Copy and Paste the contents of that log in your next reply with a new hijackthis log. Do not use Code or html unless asked for.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause your system to stall/hang.

Now that you are clean, and If you wish to do so, here are a few things that you can do that will help keep your computer a bit more clean and secure..they can be done at your leisure.

Download and scan with CCleaner
1. Starting with v1.27.260, CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation. IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option OR download the toolbar-free Basic or Slim versions instead of the Standard Build.

2. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

3. Then select the items you wish to clean up.

I still got one problem left. Everytime I run ad aware now it finds 44 files.
Here is a part of the scanlog:

 Redirected hostfile entry Object Recognized!
    Type               : Hosts file
    Data               : 127.0.0.1
    TAC Rating         : 4
    Category           : Misc
    Comment            :
    Bad Hostfile entry : 127.0.0.1:virustotal.com

Al the files are redirected hostfiles like this one.

everytime I delete them, and everytime i restarted my computer they're back.
But the weird thing is everytime I delete them nod32 give me a warning of a possible Qhost trojan file made in the temp directory by ad aware?
This is the case since i got infected.

This should fix the host files..

Download the program HostsXpert

When it opens, click on the Restore Original Hosts button and then exit Hoster.

Hi, the problem is still not fixed.
I guess some file keeps installing these host files everytime I restart my pc.
HostsXpert did fix them but after a restart the problem was back.

Hmm ok, I deleted the hosts file (not the folder) And now everytime I restart my pc I am getting a nod32 warning svchost.exe is trying to create that file again and it is impossible to delete. So the warning keeps coming back after several sconds which is very annoying.
