Been pulling my hair out over this one. I'm not extremely tech savvy, but I can hold my own, until now. Just changed to a new hard drive on my HP/Compaq dc5100 sff. Everything had been previously wiped clean, I re-installed XP Pro and I am no longer able to connect to the internet because I am missing the driver for the ethernet controller. I don't have a driver disk and have spend hours looking for a driver but to no avail. I am missing other drivers as well, but this is my first priority. Any help will be amazing.

In that case, call up HP/Compac and ask them for a driver CD for your computer. It's always better to get the machine specific stuff in one place, as it saves you a ton of hassle.

Alternatively, go to their downloads page and search for all the relevant drivers there. I searched their main website for your computer and found this there Smiley

Good luck.
