Hi,

Is your video card or cpu perhaps overheating?

Are you overclocking your CPU or video card?

I don't know how to tell if my graphics card is overheating, or how to see if I'm overclocking my cpu.  The top of my case does get kinda hot though even though I just bought a new processor fan.  It's still restarting and I'm sick of it so if you can help me out I would be very grateful.  Also just in case I ordered 256mb ddr ram to add to my system.

Sounds like the heat sink of the CPU is not contacting the surface of the CPU properly or the white thermal grease needs re-doing.

Yours sounds like a classic CPU overhaeting problem.

Check your e-mail for specialist advice to your problem from me.   Smiley

Yes, I am still having a problem with this.  I recently switched from windows xp to 2000 since winxp sp1 jammed.  The person who built this computer for me says that it isn't hardware related, he thinks it's the games I'm trying to play.  I don't really believe him since the games work find on my slower computer.  He also says that when my pc gets the ram that he ordered then it should be fine.  IMO I think it's due to overheating, but he doesn't believe me since it doesn't restart while he looks at it.  I don't know what to do anymore and I've pretty much given up.

Why don't you both have a look at it together and play some games until it crashes.

I will send you instructions on how to deal with your overheating problems.

Hi,

Since you already have 256MB of memory, I don't see how adding more memory will help unless he will be replacing what is there in case the problem is memory related!

well I'm pretty much giving up on my pc and I'm gonna buy another one off of ebay when I save enough.  It was working for a little while when I put a fan behind it, but now I can't figure it out.  I installed 256mb more ram to my pc but it didn't help any.

Look Alex, just take the thing back to the guy who built it and get him to fix it. I you think your getting ripped off, just go to the local POLICE station and get some advice on how to deal with his rip off artist.

I'm sure that a nice legal letter from a legal rights lawyer will get you the Presidential treatment and a good computer.

Don't let people steal from you, get legal and get what you paid for!
