Whenever I plug in my external harddrive into any computer the "This Device Can Perform Faster" msg comes up. When I click on the balloon, it lists off all my my USB plugs as being high speed. I have plugged other USB 2.0 into the same plug as I am plugging in my external drive with no problem. I also have plugged my external drive in different computers with various windows operating systems (Vista Ultimate, XP Home, XP Professional)  and the msg always comes up.
There are other threads around that say it is the computers drivers or the computers USB ports, but I do not think this is it because of the reason stated above.
The external is also a USB 2.0. It was working at that speed for about a year until a couple months ago when this msg just started coming up.
