Hey guys. I'm using gamecam right now and it's fine but it doesn't record the audio from the game. I know people would suggest using FRAPS but I can't afford to pay the $40 right now. I want to know if there's a freeware that would also record the audio and has unlimited minutes of recording.

Have you tried using that search phrase in Google? Like this Video capturing software?

See if you can spot something worthy of trying out. You could also try checking if the boffins at Sourceforge have come up with something like that.

how would i capture video from in game?  Im trying to do this for Empire Earth for a school project.  Are there any programs that I could just tell to capture video and turn it into a file I could use?

The best software for Game recording is FRAPS but I know its not free. I search for the freeware software for the game recording and i found out this one. Just give it a try
