i turned on my computer, and to find my screen to be on standby while the pc was on, normally, to me, it doesn't do this so i turned the pc off.
when i turned it back on, it would not start up, asking me to run a startup diagnosis tool. it checked, until it showed the blue screen, either saying somthing about the regestry or somthing else
i can't load up safe mode or system recovery
this is on a HP a6220 pc

You could try downloading Knoppix, which is a LiveCD Linux.

They have an English version of their site, where you can find a fast download link and good explanation on how it works. But you've got to be extremely patient with Linux, as it's going to bite your backside if you try to force things that are best left alone.

Report back once you've got the download to your system. The Knoppix website is located at http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
