So...i think i have this virus...my antivirus software keeps scanning email messages that i havent sent....so i have to fix my SMTP server...

How to prevent unauthorized use of an SMTP server

Situation:
You want to be able to block everyone on the Internet from using the SMTP server as a mail router, but still be able to receive your own mail.

Solution:
To disable mail relay in the current release, follow these steps:

1. In the Administrative Interface, under List, click Add.
2. Enter a name for the list, and click Add. The Modify List screen appears.
3. Select the new list in the Lists field, enter @ in the Address field, and press Enter.
4. Click Back to top to return to the Administrative Interface.
5. Under System, click Schedule.
6. Select Set Default, click Next, and click Next again.
7. Place the new list in the Deny list.
8. Click Next, and click Next again.
9. Click Finish.
10. Under System, click Modify.
11. Select SMTP Server Options (Relay), and click Next.
12. Check Not Allowed (only local email) and click Finish.

...can anyone tell me where the administrative interface is so that i can actually do this

Hi,

If your SMTP server is your ISP's, then this will do nothing for you since the problem is at your end.

If you have a virus sending emails, clean it!
