I have Nero version 6, Windows XP

Last week I tried burning a CD and it went fine. I tried burning another one and I got a "Power Calibration Error" and the process failed. I tried again and got a "No disc in drive or drive not ready" prompt so I checked before burning this time. I clicked on MORE>> at the bottom of the burn window and I clicked on the DISC info button. Nero said it was accessing information for a while and then I got the message that "No disc in drive or drive not ready". The disc is in there. Any ideas as to why the drive would not be ready?
