Hi

About 3 times a day I lose the ability to connect to the internet/send emails.  If I try to send emails I get the "an error has occured"message, if I try to connect to the internet I also get an error message.  The problem can be resolved by turning off my etec router and turning it on again but it still reocuurs later. This is very annoying if i am away from my pc as i forward some messages automatically to my mobile.
I have contacted my ISP but they insist there is nothing wrong at their end, I phoned at a time when I couldn't connect and they were saying i was connected at their end.
According to them the problem must be between my router and pc.
They suggested it could be either a problem with the cable between the router and pc or a firewall problem.
I have bought a new cable but it has made no difference.  I use AVG antivirus and the standard windows firewall.  I have made no adjustments to the settings of these for at least a year but have only had this problem for a couple of weeks, but to be sure I turned both off and the problem still occurred.
Any suggestions as to where I go from here would be greatly appreciated.

Is your network adapter set to save power in the power management settings?

Hi
Thanks for the advice, however my router/modem packed up all together yesterday, I have replaced with a new one and the problem has stopped.
Thanks again
