hey i have had a problem for a long while, that when i load any program like Firefox or, when windows loads, the background programs, the screen goes black for about 2-5 seconds. nothing freezes, the screen just goes black. this may happen only once or every few seconds up to 5 times. It is never a problem when i play any game (even demanding ones). this has been just an annoyance for a long time, but i have installed Linux (Kubuntu), and it blacks out on and off constantly so it's unusable.

i think this started happening once i got a new motherboard, processor, ram, and hard drive (everything but a new video card). so i have uninstalled and reinstalled the newest video drivers, and made sure the video card was in tight. that's all I've tried cause i really have no idea what is wrong, and i can't afford to buy a new one for a while. thanks for the help guys!
