I backed up outlook to a dbx file by going untool tools , maintenance, store folder.
I forget how I was able to do it but I can not stop it from backing up.
I Would like to stop this back up. Messages keep coming into my inbox even though
they are read  and marked as such.

I want to Totally stop the back up feature.

Where you went only changes the location of your message store. The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{2755D17F-E54B-4175-A222-9633C5636467}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.
