After about 10 minutes of using my laptop with vista, Vista runs out of memory, ie I cannot copy/move anything, some windows appear blank (e.g. when I go to "my computer" -- properties). The error message it shows when I even try to copy one 6Mb-file is "out of memory" - "there is not enough memory to complete this operation".

I have done the following things:

- I check the memory via task manager, and there is more than enough RAM available
- my pagefile setting is on "automatic"
- I tried to install the MS hotfix, but it says "update does not apply" (I guess it is included in SP1, which I already have.)

I do NOT have Kaspersky installed, nor am I trying to copy/move up to 16000 files. It simply happens after about 10 minutes of simple operations, such as word processing and playing short video clips.

My specs are better than my older PC, which runs XP, and I never ever encountered this problem with XP. It is ridiculous.

PLEASE HELP. It is driving me nuts, especially since I cannot find a solution online.

My specs are:

Asus U6V (Laptop)
Intel Dual Core 2.53 GHz
320GB HD
OS: Vista Home 32bit
