I had to repair XP PRO about 2 weeks ago, and now my computer says am not connected to the internet but I can surf the web with my local network connection. My home network consists of cable modem connected to D-Link Rangebooster G Router. Desktop computer is connected by LAN cable to router, a  Dell laptop connected wirelessly, and an ASUS mini laptop connected wirelessly. The two laptop have no trouble connecting to internet. I have the trouble on my desk top. When I try to connect to the Mcafee website to renew my antivirus software, it says I have no internet connection, connect to internet to download. I was also running Network Magic, it shows local network connected, but no internet connection.

Please help me.

I am also having the same problem.  I am able to connect to this computer using the internet thru wireless, but my other computer won't connect.  It was connected yesterday,  but since I deleted my anti virus and was in the process of reinstalling another, it now has a problem acquiring an address IP address.  How do I change the settings so that I can connect?  I have Windows XP pavilion HP.  Shows it is connected thru wireless as excellent, but does not show any activity when starting firefox or explorer.  Please help! Thanks.  I already tried to uninstall the network adapters, restart and auto reinstall, but that didn't work either. I also made sure that the IP address was accumulated automatically.
