PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP Home

A trojan scanner (ANTS)reported that I had Socket23 at port 5000.

Please can you tell what this trojan does and the best way to remove it?

Thank you,

All the best,

Hi,

Thanks for the links, rghasenohr!

I've been looking and found nothing on major antivirus vendors like Symantec, Mcafee, Trend Micro.....

Hurdy, let us know if the remover works.

Hi,

Does your trojan scanner (ANTS) still report the trojan?

Hi Guys,

ANTS reports:_

"Port 5000 offen. Wahrscheinlicher Trojaner: Socket23"

German scanner, French virus.......I'll have to go back to college and learn some languages!!

I'll try the simplysup link and let you know how I get on.

Au revoir / Auf Wiedersehen

Hello again,

Trojan Remover fom the simplysup link reported that no malicious files were found. Maybe ANTS isn't that reliable.
I'll try another scanner.

Speak to you soon,

I tried another scanner and that said I was clear as well.
Looks like ANTS may be dodgy.
Thanks for your help guys and sorry for putting you to any trouble.
